THE RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN PARENTING PATTERNS AND BEHAVIORBULLYINGFOR TEENAGERS OF STATE MIDDLE SCHOOL 11 BANDA ACEH

Abstract

Parenting patterns are known as parental behavior towards children in shaping, caring for, nurturing, teaching, educating, guiding and training, which is manifested in the form of discipline.BullyingAmong teenagers, it is still a public concern, with approximately 20-25% of teenagers directly involved as perpetrators, victims, or both. The aim of this research is to determine the relationship between parenting patterns and bullying behavior.bullyingon adolescents at SMP Negeri 11 Banda Aceh. This type of research uses quantitative, this method uses a design approach.cross sectionalThe population is 300 students, the sample size is 75 students. The sampling technique uses the random sampling technique.simple random sampling. Data collection using parenting pattern questionnaires and behavioral questionnairesbullyingadopted from Herlambang, the parenting pattern measurement tool uses nominal and behavioralbullyingusing ordinal. In the parenting pattern, the calculated r value is (0.35-0.871) with a value ofAlpha Cronbach’s(0.179-0.925) with an alpha value. This data was analyzed using the t test.chi-square, obtained with the result that there is no relationship between parenting patterns and behaviorbullyingwith p-value (0.690) > 0.05. The conclusion shows that there is no significant relationship between parenting patterns and children's behavior.bullyingon adolescents at SMP Negeri 11 Banda Aceh. It is recommended that even though the research results show that there is no significant relationship between democratic parenting patterns and adolescent behavior.bullyingParents are expected to maintain positive parenting practices.
