Radiation safety is a crucial aspect of radiology services as it poses potential hazards to both patients and healthcare workers. Compliance levels with radiation safety procedures vary and are influenced by individual and organizational factors. This study aims to analyze the effect of radiation safety training and work motivation on compliance with radiation safety procedures, with patient safety culture as a mediating variable. A quantitative cross-sectional survey design was employed involving 48 radiology personnel selected through total sampling. Data were collected using a 5-point Likert scale questionnaire covering four constructs: radiation safety training, work motivation, patient safety culture, and compliance with radiation safety procedures. Data analysis was conducted using Partial Least Squares–Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM) with SmartPLS 4. The results show that radiation safety training (β=0.35; p<0.01) and work motivation (β=0.30; p<0.05) have a significant effect on compliance. Patient safety culture also has a significant effect (β=0.45; p<0.001) and mediates the relationship between training/motivation and compliance. The research model demonstrated good predictive quality (R²=0.65). These findings highlight the importance of improving the quality of radiation safety training, maintaining work motivation, and strengthening patient safety culture as an integrated strategy to enhance compliance with radiation safety procedures in radiology departments.Downloads
